Some interesting reading about the quarter sessions in Devon.
It lists the offences and the sentences. Quite a few offenders ended up in Bridewell, or were whipped or transported. One chap was sentenced to 7 years transportation for stealing 5 loaves of bread.
Does anyone know what "not guilty - nor did fly" mean
