    Default Forshaws of Hoole Lancashire

Good evening. I am working on the Forshaw side of my family tree. At the moment I am looking for any info on the following

Edward Forshaw born 1770. He had a son called John who became a school master. I would like to know if he had any brothers or sisters.

Alot of my ancestors came from the Hoole area, and they had quite big families

I am also trying to find as much info about my great grandfather Matthew Forshaw he was born in 1874, he married Nora Ann(don't know her surname) I believe she had brothers and sisters but that is all I know. He died in 1944, but would love to find out where. Hope someone can help me on this..

    Thanks

    Hallo trace,
Was your Matthew Forshaw a farmer? I have a Matthew Forshaw aged 27, living with his father , Edward who is a widower in 1901 and will post details if you think it is the correct one. All the siblings were born Hoole Lancs.
Christening of Matthew Forshaw 25 May 1873 Hoole Lancs . Parents Edward and Ellen.
    Regards

Do you have his birth cert? June qr1873 Matthew Forshaw Preston 8e 505. It is always helpful to have the certs
and think this is his death Dec qr 1944 age 71 Amounderness 8e 587 Amounderness is part of Preston - so he didn't travel far

    Hi Lola

Yes my Matthew was a farmer. He was burried in St Lawrences church in Longridge. None of the forshaws moved to far away from Hoole

Good. Well tell me what it is you want. Can you just check your first post where you say Matthew born 1874 married a Norah Ann?? Thanks!
I don't want to duplicate what you already know.

    Lola

Sorry about the mistake in my first post He was married to Ellen and his daugter was Nora, she married my grandad who's name was Cyril Slater Simpson and he was born in Bashall Eaves, yorkshire. I don't know much about any of them only what I have wrote. I know Nora died in 1965 because it was the year before I was born so I never met her. Matthew (his son was born in 1916 but I know nothing about him as I have only just recently found this out

That's a great help , trace, thanks! Now I will have a root around and see what I can find. We are on the right track then. There were several Edwards born around the same time and so it's useful to know they came from Hoole and surrounding area. They do seem to have large families.
Nora married Cyril jan/Feb/March 1932 in Clitheroe Lancs. Gro number 8c, 511.
Is Cyril dead.... as we are not permitted to put the names of living people on here?
