I wonder if there is anyone living in the Bolton area who has any information on the post war history of Chadwick Orphanage.

Googling has yielded details of its founder and that it closed as an orphanage in 1948 with the start of the Welfare state, although this is not strictly true. I would dearly like to know what happened to the building after that and any snippet however small will be useful.

I have e-mailed Bolton Archives and am awaiting a reply.
