Nice brisk day,here in Stoke on Trent.For those who don't know the area,we're just off the Pennines,with some lovely scenery around the Staffs;moorlands.Just off for a brisk walk around the lovely village of Ellastone,home for a bowl lobby

And yes, I agree, there is some lovely scenery in the Staffs Moorlands



My dads family came from there...and i have many elusive ancestors from that area too!! I just love going to visit the villages!

Lobby is our famous Potteries stew,left over meat scraps,a nice juicy meatbone,lots of chunky veg and pearl barley.Have you tried our other local delicacy oatcakes?

No luck,but enjoyed my walk and my bowl of lobby when I got back home.!Regards.

I've tried Oatcakes but not Potteries Stew..... sounds nice though, & I should imagine it would make a good comfort food in this weather!

Speaking of oatcakes I had them when I lived in Derbyshire, either toasted or with a fry up mmmm.

Since I moved down here, nobody's heard of oatcakes. Can't buy them anywhere.
