    Hello Phil and welcome to AA. No Whittingtons in my tree (that I know of as yet !) You'll soon find your way around and find it's a very friendly site. Lots of help on offer if you need it and any help you can give is brilliant. Enjoy it and good luck

    Mary, Whittington is the village, It is a "One Place Study" covers virtually everyon in the village and goes back hundreds of years. Started as a millennium project, and carried on. Regards, Phil. (

    Ooops..........sorry phil..............one of many 'senior moments'.......lol Still, got no-one there I'm afraid.

    I'm trying to find out about the village my Dad grew up in. Small place in Bedfordshire called Souldrop.and keep drawing a blank. Even asked the local history society in Beds and had no reply. Hows the best way to start with something like this?

    There is a website which contains PARLOC.COM short for Parish Locator, if you google it should find the exact name, hopefully! Phil.

    Welcome to AA, I hope you enjoy the site. Whittington is no help to me I'm affraid as mine are mostly from Hampshire and Co. Durham. Good luck with your research.
