Thread: Hi From Oz

Hello everyone.



My name is Kate and I am from Australia. I have been researching my Family Tree for around 18 months. I originally started with only my Grandparents names and have now found 31,000 names linked to my family. Most of my family is found in New South Wales, with some in Queensland and South Australia.



My family comes from Cashel, Tipperary, Ireland - St Ilgen Germany - Jersey Channel Islands - Sandhurst Kent - Stayleybridge Cheshire England - Hoff Bavaria. These are the areas my immediate family come from.



Main family names are Cummins (Cashel Ireland), Asplet (or Asplett) (Jersey), Cooper (Kent), Lenz (Bavaria), Flory (St Ilgen Germany), Wilson (Cheshire England), Rigney (Queens County Ireland), Renshaw (Ireland), Popplewell (Yorkshire).



I have links to so many of the first families to arrive in Oz either Convict or Free. My immediate family all arrived Free, some as Assisted Immigrants and others as Unassisted.



I would really love to find any relatives overseas, so if you think you may be related please contact me, I would love to hear from you.

I have two seperate Lenz families from Germany which I descend from, but both were found in Hesse, although there may be a conection somewhere.
