Default Combe in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

    Hi,
I'll start with my father's family. They go back to Thomas Combe born in Broadway, Worcestershire and christened on 4/12/1788. The record only gives his mother's name - Sarah Comb - and a note that he was illegitimate.
The next timeline event I know about in his life was when he was indentured to James Bee of Sevenhampton, Gloucestershire as a Tailor's apprentice. Indenture fee paid on 20/11/1798 when thomas was just 10 years old. I am curious about the Bee family because at one stage James Bee was accused of deserting his family (A2A Database) around the right period to be Thomas's putative father.
Thomas Combe married Mary Beckett in 1813 in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire.
    They had 8 children:
George Combe (1815-1871) married Mary Ann Evans.
Charles Combe (1817-1903) married 1) Mary Perrin and 2) Ann Hiorns.
Alfred Combe (1819-1886) married Mary Ann Farley.
Tirza Combe (1822-1885) married Thomas Roffe.
Jemima Combe (1824-1855) married George Harvey.
William Combe (1827 - ) married Sarah Jones nee Sheppard
Clement Combe (1830 -1906) married Sarah Bacon - My great-grandfather.
Edwin Combe (1831- ) married Emma Hook.
Well, that is enough to be going on with,
    Linda
