Sorry I have gone around this backwards......should have posted here first - apologies!!
This is a fabulous website and people have been so helpful already - thank you!
My reason for being here is that I am helping my good friend try and find her relatives in order to present her Mum an 'family tree' album on her 60th birthday in a couple of months...... Gradually piece by piece we are trying to gather information but sadly coming up against a few sturdy brick wall
I think we have sorted 'Nan's' side of the family which hopefully will be confirmed via her birth certificate but our stumbling block is that her husband was a German citizen and finding records (and not speaking German) is proving to be very difficult.....
Fingers crossed we will find what we are looking for.....
