Just joined. The surnames I am researching are Pallatt, Pallett, Paylet and Rumsey. The Pallatt connection are said to have originated in Russia, I have managed to track them around Wales but cannot find the entry point where they entered the UK. Hit the proverbial brick wall.
Rumsey I am not sure of except that his names were James Arthur.

On census returns there's a James Arthur Rumsey born 1883 in Macclesfield, could he be yours? Start a thread for him and tell all the information you have and we'll search census returns etc.

Yes I do have 3 very silly dogs!!!!!!! A Yorkie, Miniature Pinscher and a black Labrador, who is scared of the rain!!!!!!
The info I have indicates that the James Arthur you mention born in Macclesfied may be the one. Will post thread today.
This family research thing has bitten me and I can spend hours surfing the net in the hope of finding something. Very frustrating from South Africa, we do not have the resources available that you guys do, and the exchange rate makes it hard to subscribe to the overseas sites. so kind people have helped me along.
