My name is Michael Wookey, and I am trying to trace the parents and ancestors of James Wookey, Bn abt 1816 in East Harptree Somerset.
I have his mother's name as Hester, but I then hit a brick wall....
Someone has suggested the father and mother could be James Wookey bn 1776, and Hester Sprud bn 1771, but I cannot make a definate link
I would appreciate some help please, and thankyou in advance.

cant help with your particular james but.... my OH main ancestral line is the wookeys in hinton blewitt and east harptree. i even have a james , son of william and hester but he is born 1836. would be interested in swopping info with you as i am sure there must be a connection somewhere. i am stuck with my james grandparents as there are some pages that are just blank in hinton blewitt parish registers for the vital years.
