Thread: Hi All

I came across this forum for the first time yesterday via a Google search (I don't know how I managed to miss finding out about it before!). Having looked through some of the threads, I'm very impressed by the fact that there are so many people out there who are willing to devote time to helping others to progress their family trees. Every one of you who gives up some of their time to assist in that way deserves great praise!

I have a brick wall or 2 of my own that I'll be seeking help with once I can get my act together to summarise what I do know, but fear that what I need will founder on the fact that the man that I know next to nothing about didn't get married to the woman who's currently the focal point of my tree and has a very common name to boot.

Anyway, more on that in another thread soon, but I just wanted to say hello for now and that it's great to be here! Hopefully I can learn more about research sources and methods, as well as trying to dismantle my own brick walls. You never know, in time I might become knowledgeable enough to offer assistance to others here!

Slizzy, Chris and Marion - many thanks for your kind welcome. One of the things that's struck me already about Ancestry Aid is the friendly and mutually supportive atmosphere here and it feels like a really good place to be. I've posted my brick wall details in the brick wall forum, but fear there's so little to go on that it's not going to be possible to get anywhere with it.

It's much easier for folk to help when all the info one has is set out clearly like yours is. You didn't waffle at all... just set it out comprehensively so that it reads easily and is very informative.
