    Smile Hello everyone

    I am researching my family both paternal and maternal and am a little stuck tracking the paternal side. I know that my paternal great great grandfather Edwin John Hawkins was born in Hampshire England around 1854. He married Emma Legge on 4/9/1879 in Newcastle New South Wales Australia.

    In regards to my maternal side, my great grandfather is Adam Storey referred to as the Old Man of the Sea from Newbiggin by Sea. Adam was married to Jane Storey formerly Mavin. Their daughter Eva Jane Storey was my grandmother she married Ralph Shields and migrated to Australia. Ralph was born in Easington and is the son of Richard Nicholson Shields and Frances Shields.

    If anyone can help with any part of my search I would be grateful.

    It seems we are related.

    Adam Storey and Jane Mavin were my great great grandparents. My grandmother, Elaine Storey still lives in Newbiggin in the house next door to where 'Old' Adam occupied.
