Thread: Trying again

I am back in touch after a long absence. Most of my family came from (or ended up in) Dunbartonshire.
Names include Logue, Gillan, Harkins, Kane, McPherson and Rowe.
Any help much appreciated, or maybe I can help you?

My great grandmother Mary Gillan, had a brother, Thomas who emigrated to Australia after committing Bigamy. His "second wife " (Margaret Buchanan Burns) and their two children followed him, and they spent the rest of their lives together in the antipodes. I would love to know if they were ever able to marry legally. His first wife, Mary McVey was still alive at the time of the 1891 census. Thomas died in Sydney in 1914.
