Hi everyone, just this minute joined.

Am researching the Dawes family from Greenwich area of London.

Specifically Edward Dawes born 1851ish; Mary A his wife born 1852 and their children James; Albert Henry(my great grandfather) Louisa; Walter; Frank; Harry; Sidney and Horace.

If anyone recognises this family profile and anyone in it, t would be great to exchange info.

Hi Treemaster, welcome and good luck.

My old teacher was Harry Dawes but he was down here in Cornwall, wonder if he was a relation to you .

    Hi Hazelnut,

    Belated thanks for your welcome.

Interesting that your teacher was called Harry Dawes and could be a possible line to check at a later stage. From my research so far (all the way back to 1800) it would seem my ancestors didn't move around much as they all appear to come from the same part of London. Not suprising I suppose as they didn't have cars in those days.

    Regards
