Thread: Robert Smith

I have been trying to trace my Smith family genealogy. I have been able to go back to my great-great grandfather, David Smith and have found that he was born in the parish of Kildwick, Cononley, North Yorkshire. His birthdate was February 10, 1828. I have been able to go forward from there and know that he and his wife, Elizabeth Sellars (b. April 1852) came to Canada in 1856. What I cannot find is anything about his parents. I know that his father was Robert Smith (b. 1797) but I don't know anything else beyond that. David's marriage certificate says that his address at the time of his marriage was York Street, Bingley. I would really like to continue my research on Robert but am at a standstill. Can anyone help?
