I've been researching my family for about 2 years now.

Most from Whitby and Sunderland - BAXTER, TATE, JOHNSTON

Stuck on my paternal grandmother's side. Her grandfather PETER JOHNSTON was born in Stromness, Orkney around 1824. I have his marriage cert with his father's name - Cesar Johnson & foolishly thought I'd be able to find him easily!! I didn't count on Cesar being a common name on Orkney!!

I'll keep trying though!
