Thread: Researching Gaisford, originally of Wiltshire country and surrounds, England

Hi there



My name is Amanda. I am continuing the research begun by my great-grandfather into the history of the our family: GAISFORD (can also be found as Gainsford, Guesford, Gesford, among others).



My GGF spent years researching this, and he would have done his nut if he'd been alive when the internet came into its own.



Anyhoo, I don't know how I would have even begun if I hadn't had all his work to start with -- pages and pages of genealogy going back to 1302. Most of the names concentrate in the Wiltshire county of England, and nearby surrounds. At some point, descendents emigrated to the US, Australia and South Africa.



I use the open-source, free GRAMPS software to generate my gedcom files and website:



I'd be quite happy to share information, and would love to fill in some gaps.
