My name is Barbara Williamson. For almost 30 years, I've been researching the African American/Native American families identified in the title. Although the focus is primarily geared toward African Americans, there are several white families connected to these lineages. The locale for my search is in the Union, South Carolina area during the 18th and 19th centuries. Some of the families are slaves or descendants of slaves while others are free Blacks or White. Other surnames linked to these families are Dogan, Steen, McKissick and Littlejohn.



I look forward to sharing information with anyone doing research on these families.

I have just recently started researching some African American Ducketts from the Laurens & Newberry counties of South Carolina, these counties are next door to Union county. The family members I'm researching I believe the were slaves of James Duckett who ultimately relocated with them to Sevier County, Arkansas. I would love to exchange information with you.
