Thread: Hawkes family members in Gloucestershire

Hi, I am trying to find information about my Dad's family, HAWKES. I have traced them to Southwark in London late in the 1800"s where they arrived from a village near Stow on the Wold called Longborough. John Hawkes, born approx. 1819 married Harriett Shepherd on 29th May 1841 in that village. John came from Great Rissington to marry Harriet, and I think his father was also called John Hawkes. He was born in Great Rissington too. I live in Suffolk so cannot easily get to the Gloucester Record Office, so if anyone out there has an interest or information about the Hawkes family, it would be great to hear from youJoanneehawkes.
