Thread: G'day and Thanks

Hello (G'day)



I have been researching my family history for just under a year - since I retired. My initial interest arose from a family marriage connection (in the mid 1800s) to the noted American mariner Joshua Slocum. It has now branched in so many different directions with some excellent results but not without brickwalls and wrong paths.



My current surname interests are from my mother's parents (both their paternal and maternal lines):



. Sammons, Kane, Drury and Lobb from London (Plumstead, Greenwich, Woolwich, Camberwell, Westham and Eastham)

. Lobb/Lob, Wellington and Freethy from Cornwall (mainly Liskeard, Broadoak/Bradock and Luxulyan)

. Walker from the USA (New York and California).



A special thank you to those members of Ancestry Aid who have assisted me.



My interests are my immediate family (especially my 1 year old grandson who I care for 3 days a week), gardening (great to see spring on the way) and family history.
