Thread: Hello

Hello,



I am very new to all this forum stuff I don't even have a social networking profile so please bear with me if I get muddled up following threads, working out tags,trackbacks and navigating around .



I have been doing my family history for quite a few years now and have done very well on my maternal side mainly because they have unusual names, it's my paternal side that causes the problems because there are so many John McDonagh's (my Grandfather) and Mary Duffy's (my Grandmother) who hail from the Sligo area. Sometimes it's easier to say Connaught because the townlands seem to border Leitrim, Roscommon and Galway or is it just the Local Government (Ireland) Act 1898 confusing things .



Other areas of interest are Cork, Kildare and Wexford. In England it is Suffolk and military places like Southampton, Woolwich etc. In particular my great uncle's mention in Dispatches.



Anway I look forward to joining in and helping other people as well.
