Thread: Researching COLLA family of Middlesex.

Hi.

I'm researching the COLLA family of Clerkenwell, Middx.

This is an unusual name so it is a hard slog to obtain background.

The earliest I have is an Andrew COLLA b.cir 1807 d.cir 1847 married to Harriet nee Vincent.

Andrew was from Italy so thats a bit of a dead end although the family from 1840 flourished.

This is my wifes family so it is not my primary.

Anyone with information would be gldly welcomed.

Hi, well we certainly share a common ancestor being Andrew from Italy. Have just been looking at family bible - he appears right at beginning. Have done some research which on Ancestor.com, would be happy share and hopefully you could fill in some of my blanks

Although COLLA is not my primary, this is my wife's family, when I run into a brick wall I tend to ask around just to see who is doing what.



The branch I am following is from Andrew COLLA (1807-1841) to his son Peter George COLLA (1844-1891) who had, according to my own records, 6 sons. Peter, Thomas, John, Andrew, William and Ted.

And then on through Thomas (1874-1935) who had 4 sons and 3 daughters, to the present day.



The family are traced back to Hackney.



If this sounds familiar then we could be tracing the same family. I would be interested to know which is your own decendant from Andrew.
