Hi all,
I'm so glad I found this site, by accident, this morning. It is wonderful to see how everybody is helping each other to find lost relatives.
I have been researching my husbands' side of the family(William Bonson 1773 from Shoreditch, Lnd) for the past 3 years. It started out as a mission to trace his biological grandfather, Bernard S Bonson 1907, here in South Africa [immigrated to RSA when he was a young boy], which he never knew and left when my father-in-law was about 5 years old.
It is now 3 years later....hundreds of new family members....communicating with family we never knew we had, collecting photos and building on a file that I can't pick up anymore. For one that hated History at school, this project has turned into a hobby and a huge learning experience....I LOVE History!
Only sad thing is that I have found so many family members around the world, EXCEPT the person that started it all, Stanley B Bonson! It is difficult to find info in South Africa.....we are not so 'techno' this side of the world!
But, I shall not give up!
I truely hope to learn alot from all of you and would appreciate lots of help in future.
See you on the Forum.
