Hi, My Name is Jason Hood

I am tracing my Family tree. Have found one branch of my family very easy to trace all the way back to 1665. However I am struggling to trace other branches.



I found this activity really interesting and highly addictive. It always interested me to know where I came from and curious to know what my ancestors did. It also has been fun to investigate family legends and myths. I have discovered even a scandal and the fact my surname should not be what it is!!

Hi Jason. I know what you mean about family scandals. Turns out my grandfather was illegitimate. Our surname would have been something completely different if my great grandfather had done the "honourable" thing and married my great grandmother!

I was wondering if your Dad is Dave Hood? If so you're my cousin - my Dad is Ray.

I thought it might be you as I know that I shouldn't technically be a Hood either - something to do with there not being a fathers' name on a birth certificate and the child getting the mother's surname...?
