Thread: Hi from Oz

very new to this thread business, so hope I don't make too many gaffs. Have been researching both my husband's an my families. My g g grandfather Robert Allan was born in or near Airdire, Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1853. He grew up on mixed farm and emigrated at age of 18 (1871) to Victoria Aust. That is all I have on his life overseas. Can anyone help....... Robert Allan seems to be a very common name.



We are also having trouble tracing Keith's g-g- grandmother Ellen Birkhead from Yorkshire. Her father was Joseph known as David. Ellen emigrated to Adelaide S.A. 1n 1858 arriving on the Bee in Oct. She was born abt 1838. Does anyone have any info?
