Hi
I am new to this site but not to family research.
I have been researching my maternal tree for over five years now and have done quite well , I think, taking the main branches back to the start of the 1800's.
There are a few little mysteries here and there, but then that makes it all the more intriguing.
If you asked 5 years ago, I would have said that I was a 'scouser' born and bred, with a bit of Welsh blood.
Now, I know a whole lot different.
While my grandmother's family are definitely rooted in Liverpool and Cheshire, the remainder come fron Lincoln, York and of course, Ireland.
I have recently discovered though, that my 'grandfather' may not be so, as it seems that grandmother had several illegitimate children, including my mother.
Sadly, there is no one to ask as they are all gone now, and I myself have passed that big 0 that comes with a few perks (if you know what I mean!)
About myself, I'm married with a boy and a girl and grandson and granddaughter. Recently retired with time on my hands (to research!!!!)
Hobbies : Genealogy, reading, cardmaking, watching football (LFC) and Formula 1.
Will be asking for help, but can offer only limited resources in return. I've used the internet for most or my research.
