Introducing myself
Hi All,
My name is Murphy.I am 43 years old and live in West Africa.I am interested in Ancestry research on the family of Walter William Titt who later changed his name to Walter William Pitt during his life time.
This English gentleman was born in Swindon in 1893 to George and Mary Titt.They lived on 11 Drove road in Weston Super Mare.
I visited the Titt family house in Weston Super Mare in 2006 while i was in the UK and learnt Walter had a brother Frederick who was married and never had any children.Walter had two sisters i think Annie was one of them but i dont know who they later married which has made tracing them difficult.
Now as i said,Walter changed his surname to Pitt during his life time.He worked in Nigeria from 1921-1951.He met my grand mother in 1948 and they had my mother in 1948.He was a Pitt at this time.
He left Nigeria in 1951 and we lost contact with him until 2006 when i started researching on him while a student at the university of wolverhampton.
From my research, i know he has a surviving son Geoffrey William Pitt who lives in Winchester in the UK.i HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH HIM BUT IT WAS NOT VERY PLEASANT.
I AM ASKING FOR THE FOLLOWING.
Does any body know any surviving TITT from the lineage i have described most especially the surviving children of Walters Two sisters.
Now i know about Geoffrey.Did Walter have any other Children that would be more receptive.Could i get a picture of Geoffrey.
