Hi All,
Belated introduction... I had a recent Y-DNA test on behalf of an American History Project looking at early settlers and found that (a) I belong to a rare Haplogroup (I2b1) and (b) I may have an early American connection. This set me to researching my family tree to try and discover my origins and if that American connection really exists.
The families I am investigating are (Paternal) = Green & May, & (Maternal) = Balaam & Simmonds. The Balaam's are of particular interest as my Maternal Grandfather was one of 17 (yes... seventeen), whilst the Green's seem to have had an intriguing inter-woven relationship in Victorian East London with the Powell's and Tunbridge's of the area.
This is a great site and I support all you stand for. I hope to contribute positively to it as my research progresses.
Andy
