Hi Everyone
My name is Brian Harrison. My wife and I have been doing family research for some time now. We have stopped the relentless search backwards and have started to build up the information on the family and fill in all those missing pieces.
My Harrison line is mainly from the Durham and Northumberland regions of the UK, although there are several branches now residing in the US and Australia. I have proven dates back to 1680. At this point in my research I have had to stop as it would only be guess work. My family were never rich, famous or even infamous for that matter, but they always seemed to raise them selves out from the norm. There are countless sextons, clerks, blacksmiths, etc... as well as the ability to read and write so I have been lucky with the paper trail.
My wifes main line are the McKinnell's who moved to Durham in the 1880/90's from Scotland. We have managed to track them back to New Abbey Kirkcudbright.
I am always in awe of our ancestors, not because of great deeds or anything like that, just that they had the ability to survive in the harshest of times and even found ways to prosper.
Anyway enough of me prattling on. I look foward to talking and sharing inforamation with some of you soon. I will also put a list of interests together for both my wifes and my family.
