I have just read about this site, from joining a new site for 'Golden Oldies' not sure if I should mention the site here, so have not.....
I have been doing my Family Tree on and off for a few year, and still have a 50 year old wall I am trying to know down. It is getting me down nowas the people who I wanted to find the answers for, are now all sadly died too. So perhaps where they have gone, they now know the answers and cannot get back to tell me!!

So if anyone out there can relate to the MINETT family mostly from around the Islington, London area mid 1800's I would love to hear from you please.
The brick wall is with my Great Grandfather Joseph James MINETT born in Islington in 1855, he married Eleanor Sears ROBINSON 1877. They are on the 1891 census in seperate places, JJ on his own, and Eleanor with two of the three children at JJ's parents. Also in Islington. In 1902 when the eldest child Sophia got married, her marriage cert says JJ is deceased. BUT no record of JJ's death can be found. In 1901 there is a Joseph MINETT in the workhouse - St. Mary's Islington, but certificates bought prove this is NOT our Joseph. So where did he go. Passenger lists abroad to USA and other countries have not found him. Passport office can't help as I don't have a death certificate, so where is he?????? I descend from Sophia's brother Alphonso George Edward MINETT.
Anyone got any other ideas please, then do contact me.
Many thanks.
