wandered in from a genie blog, and am familiar with the site structure as it very closely resembles Rootschat.com.
I've been researching since 1987 and online since 1991. have lots of names, not all British.
my main British names, but certainly not all of them, are
Pearson and Plummer of Yorkshire
Cross, Smith, Richards, Hawkins in Essex, primarily in Colchester, Richards probably in Lawford or Manningtree.
Cross(e), Freeman, Peckover in Suffolk, mostly in Woodbridge, Cross possibly in Framlingham earlier.
Atkinson, Aitken and Airey in Kirkby Thore and Kendall, Westmoreland
Morfitt, Mason and Smith in Birstall, Armley and Batley, Yorkshire
South and Bossingham in Lincolnshire-Bossingham in Kirton in Holland
Ledwitch and McDermott in Co. Kildare, Ireland probably of Fannagh and Cappagh, but also probably of Kilcock
McDonald and McPhail of Inverness shire, Scotland, thought to be of Baliviphail per 1792 Crofter's census.
that's all that I've traced out of America to the British Isles at this time, though there's certainly more to be found.
