Thread: Crockett

Looking for Frederick Crockett. Born approximately 1862 in Tyytenhanger Green, Hertfordshire. In the 1901 Census he is listed as born in Titan Under Green, where they spelled his last name as Crochett. Have found him in the 1881 census with his father William and mother Eliza. He married Harriet Ann Tuck in, I believe 1883. Would like to get a birth certificate for him, but using every different means of asking, have sent for it at least 4 times now with a "cannot find" answer. He was a fireman in the gas works. In 1881 he was living on Green Street in Shenley in Hertfordshire. This is the registration district of Barnet and the sub-registration district of South Mimms. If anyone has any ideas of my next move could you please let me know. Thank you in advance. Leopold

Assuming you have searched the indexes thoroughly & Frederick Crockett isn't there you probably need to consider if he was born under a different name.

This looks like William & Eliza's marriage -

1/1864 St Albans 3a 337 William Crockett to Eliza Reeves (well after Fred's birth)

In which case this birth is a possibility -

1/1862 Frederick Israel Reeves St Albans 3a 279

(Right registration district for Tyttenhanger Green)
