Thread: Ernest Octavius Organ

Hi, Don't know if any one can help, I'm trying to find my Great Grandfather Ernest born Sept 1871 Plymouth Devon. He married Rose White 1897 in Dover Kent and had my grandfather Charles Thomas in Kensington 1898.

Am unable to find Ernest on the 1901 census, Rose and Charles are in Dover with Rose's family but can't find Ernest anywhere on the census Don't know what he did for a living but one thought is that he was in the Army (was in East Surrey regiment in 1914-18 war) Where do you look for forces records?

Hi Ann, searched high & low but no luck, and with such an unusual name it should be evident.

Your assumption re the army could be correct if he was serving abroad, hence Rose & Charles with her parents.
