Thread: Bramley

Could someone tell me where to find info.on George Bramley who Married Elizabeth Havell in 1812 at All Saints Church in Humberstone Leicester.I've tried the census but she died before 1841 so it seems I've also checked the Parish Records.I know she was there but I'm unable to find her now. Hi tel1 - sorry to have taken so long getting back to you. Not very successful I'm afraid!

You have the details of the marriage - the only additional information I found is the witnesses - Elizabeth Johnson & Thomas Bramley (you may have this already).

I found Elizabeth's burial - Leicester All Saints 16 March 1824 age 37 (she was living at Northgate Street).

I couldn't find George's 2nd marriage (to Eleanor) & I don't think it took place in Leics - I found them on 1851 and it states that she was born in Stamford Lincs so they may have married there. Let me know if you want the census details.

I looked through All Saints & Humberstone for George's & Elizabeth's births but couldn't find them - they could be anywhere but if I have any inspiration I will look again! Havell isn't a common name - there were a few Havills in Loughborough. Any ideas?

Hi Gillian Many thanks for that information.I have found the details of George and Eleanor they were married at All Saints in Leicester in1826.As you say Eleanor was from Stanford.I've checked varios sites for information and most of the Leicester parish'sfor details on the Bramley line and he seems to be from the Barrow on Saw area which covers quite a large area. My guese is he may be from Shepshed as there are lots of Bramley's there. What do you think? Many thanks for your help Terry

Good luck and let me know if you find anything. I'll have a further look in the parish registers when I get the chance but as you say it's rather a large area.
