Thread: stockwell family

Hi everyone

could anyone help me find info out about my grandfathers siblings. If possible i would like to know who they were married to, their occupations and if they had any children. I do know they were all born in the chelsea area of london their names and dob are



thomas stockwell born 1872

emily stockwell born 1873

william stockwell born 1874

betsy stockwell born 1878

john stockwell born 1886



their parents were william henry stockwell b 1849 (also known as henry stockwell) and mary stanley b 1850. I think they had another child their first born joseph b 1869 as far as i know he died age 6mths old in 1870 i do not know the cause of death. some of my living relatives say there was a son called sidney b 1871 but so far i cannot find anything in bmd to support this.

On the 1891 Census the children listed with Wm H & Mary J are:



Betsy F age 13

Thomas R age 9

Emma M age 7

John E age 5 and

Joseph B age 3



By 1901 there is also Annie aged 11 (as she was not listed on 1891 prob born just after1891 census)



Mary has this child, Betsy & Emma living with her, she is classed as WIfe and married but Wm Henry isn't home!

thank you for your help, joseph is a mystery bmd have him as born 1869 died 1870 age 6 mth???? as far as i am aware there was only 2 sisters it is interesting that the mystery child is called annie because my grandfather frederick married a annie and nobody knows how he met her , the story is she was a housemaid . my stockwells seem full of surprises
