Thread: Marriage lookup please

Can anyone help with a marriage to save me getting another certificate for this family.



William Ranft born 1866 Holywell, Flintshire,Wales is on the census with spouse Ester. Their first child Allan was born 1890 in Farnworth, Lancashire.



The family could be mistranscribed as Ramft or Rauft. I have tried with no success with no luck. Can any one help please.

I think it may be under your nose without your realising it !!



FreeBMD has marriage JAS 1888 Liverpool 8b/173 for William Henry RANFT. Women are called Minnie DUTTON and Maria Jane PARRY.



Look on the 1891 census, the Post Office is one entry but has 2 households - household immediately before them has surname DUTTON. Is Esther M RANFT the same as Minnie DUTTON?



Cross check with this on the 1881 - RG11; Piece: 3724; Folio: 93; Page: 4;

where Esther M DUTTON born Ditton age 15 niece is living



I think it's going to cost you a certificate, be it allan's birth or the above marriage, before you'll know.
