she was born about 1834 in reeth.

father thomas allan

mother could be barbara

1841 census has her as Eleanor not Ellen. Sister Margaret baptism on IGI 20 march 1840 Arkengarthdale parents Thomas ALLEN and Barbara.



Keep this one in mind too (if Thomas was a lead miner, then he could easily have been in Co. Durham too)

i found that one as well but unfortunately she is still single when my ellen allan had married.

there is another ellen allen spelt with the e instead of an A her mother was also called ellen but not sure of that one either.

my ellen allan married henry hodgson and died aged 58 on the 27th october 1892.

her birth would therefore have been between 27th october 1833 and 27th october 1834.

so if you could find a birth between these dates it would be brulliant
