Default Help re surnames please DEEAM and BELOE

Hi I am new here and hope this is the right place to post!

I have been researching my family history for a year, with success and enjoyment.

I have found my great great great grandfather and from there working up to the present day. But - I can find virtually nothing re his wife, whose maiden surname was DEEAM. That is how it is written on the online copy of the marriage licence! They were married at St George Hanover Square in 1807. It is a mystery of a name.

I am also having trouble with their eldest daughter Dorothy Margaret Beloe, who married twice. This is her second marriage in 1840. She seems to disappear after 1841, though I know she was alive in 1854.

    Default Deeam and Beloe

I am looking for the origins of the surname DEEAM. Ann Deeam was born 1780, married 1807 to Jonah Wilson at St George Hanover Square in London. I have no idea where she came from! Even a country would help!

Also one of their daughters Dorothy Margaret BELOE, nee Wilson born 1808. She married twice. Her second marriage was to Alfred Jolliffe Beloe (maybe Beloc). They married in Dec 1840 in Bedminster. I cannot trace her whereabouts or children beyond 1841, though I know she was alive in 1854. Although I can find a few Beloe's I need to connect them with her before I can really trace her children!

    Thanks!

    Hi Anne

Found this entry in the 1851 Census name transcribed as Belve, image looks like beloe. Lodging with a Mcfarlane family.

    Hi Anne

I have looked everywhere I can think of and could not find anyone else with the name Deeam (I am sure you have done the same). As the spelling of surnames was not so set at that time I think I would be looking for Deame or Deem.

    Hi Nanna

Ann Deeam married Jonah Wilson of Thirsk Co York 1807. The image is quite clear.

The only one I have been able to find on the passenger lists was a Mrs Deeam from Hamburg, Germany but nationality American .

Hi Anne - I found the marriage on Boyds marriage index too and there she is spelled Deam! You maybe need a look up on the original registers.

Have you thought about the possibility of a French Huguenot background?

    Hi

I hope this is the right place to post a reply to those who have taken the time to look and search and reply on my behalf re Deeam and Beloe. Thank you so much!

Deeam maybe being Deam seems such a definite possibility - there are loads of them out there! Instead of the obvious Deeam, being the only one I can find, it may be like looking for a needle in a haystack to find my GGGGrandmother as a Deam!

And how would I go about tracing a French Huguenot background?
