Thread: marriage of robert mccormick, help please

Hi there



I have been looking for a marriage of Robert McCormick, he was born in Twynholm, Kirkcudbright, in 1848. Unsure who he married and can;t seem to find anything that fits....

Hi Kirsty,

I found the only RobertMcCormick who fitted in the 1881 census with his wife Jessie. Their oldest child was born in 1871 and therefore it is reasonable to assume that they married prior to this:

So this looks very likely:

Marriage Robert McCormick & Jessie Hunter 13th Aug 1869 Twynholm Kirkcudbright.

thank you I appreciate your help.....it does spark something off though. When I was researching this family a year or so ago, I found a record that showed that a couple of members of my family went to washington to do something with the granits pillars on the outside of the US treasury...any ideas how I find this again??? When should I look, it was an accident that last time!

thank you I have the censuses for robert now for all years, he was a servant with his sister sarah in 1901...which is a bummer I was hoping he was married and I would get his wifes name....never mind.....i little achievement is good!! Also, just to add I have a phone call from a guy called robert today he is related to me through my ggg grandad...how cool is that!!! Also, did you see me canada post, think it is about 3rd down in the list.......not sure if you can help?? No one has replied...boo hoo!!!
