Thread: 1861 census look ups.

I am looking for a Samuel Stone who married a Harriet Bourne on the 19/05/1861 in Wednesbury, Staffs. Are they on the 1861 census in this area? They did move over to Peterborough later (1862/3). Would they still be in the the Wednesbury area for the 1861 census? Samuel's father was James Stone. I hvw had no luck finding Samuel on the 1851 either. I do not know where he was born also. Hoping some kind soul can help me. Roberto.

If Samuel married Harriet 19th May 1861 they would not be married in the 1861 census as this was taken as at midnight 17th April.

I am looking for Harriet in the Wednesbury area at that time as it might give us some sort of lead.

Harriet was born in 1840. 5TH october at Lower Mitton, Stourport, Worcestershire. I that helps ypu Bazzer. Regards Roberto.

Thanks mate, not much help though because in 1861, just prior to her marriage Harriet was working as a House Servant at Well Lane Upton Upon Severn Kempsey Worcestershire, in the Household of Thomas & Martha Stanton, Thomas was a Maltster & Farmer of 80 Acres.

Still no luck with Samuel I'm afraid.

Thanks Bazzer. There was a James and Sarah Stone who were witnesses. Samuel's occ. was a Striker. Later in Peterborough he was a Blacksmith's striker/ railways. He died in 1866. James was a carpenter. This is all part of a 6 year brickwall. What age was Harriet in Kempsey? Roberto.
