Thread: 1871 scotland census - Glasgow

I have on the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census info on George Moses and family and I know he died in 1892 Glasgow but would like to find him on any other census records such as 1871.

His info on the 1861 census are as follows:

George Moses age 26 est birth 1835 birth place Nees

spouse - Jane age 26

child - Edward age 7

Living at Registration district: Central District

Civil parish: Glasgow St David

County: Lanarkshire

Address: 43 Montrose St

Occupation: Hot Presser

Have you any later details on the son Edward please?

I looked last night and am also having difficulty with this one. There is an Edward Moses in an industrial school but the age doesn't match. It says 11, but without being able to view the actual image cannot tell if the age was 17 and mistranscribed. At the same time there is a George as a lodger (the age only a couple of years out) but no sign of a Jane.



I have now seen the image and the Edward there deffinately says age 11.

Can you check the 1861 image to see if Edward was 7 yrs or 7 months?

The industrial school 1871 would fit in with his mother dead and also the Stockwell Street George as Lodger.

I couldn't resist it. The image deffinately says age 1. There is a dot infront of it which goes all down the page on other names also.
