    Default Wynne/Brennan

    Hello list,

I am trying to find the marriage (or any other information) of my great aunt Mary E Wynne, born 1872 in Chirk, nr Wrexham. I find her on the 1891 census still in Chirk.

I know she married a Mr Brennan and eventually lived and died in Avoca, Co. Wicklow. I have seen her grave stone in the Protestant graveyard in Avoca, which just gives her name as Mary Brennan, died 1963 aged 91, but no mention of any family.

I have been unable to find any reference after 1891 but would I be able to find any reference if she married in Ireland after 1891?

Around this time she had a brother and two or three sisters living in Liverpool, so may have met Mr Brennan there.

Any help would be most welcome,

    Keith

    Hello Marion,

Thankyou for your effort in looking for my g.aunt Mary E Wynne. The Wynnes you have found are unfortunately not my Wynne family. Mine were all born and lived, mostly in Chirk, nr. Wrexham and were coalminers, at least the males were. When I started this research I'd no idea Wynne was such a common name, almost as common as mine (Jones). My wife, with a maiden name of Tynemouth is making great progress with her family tree.

    Kind regards

    Keith

    Hello slizzy,

Just as I had given up hope, you've provided a new clue. I had found my relatives on the 1881 census, Charles Wynne, (with an 'e') was my grandfather, sadly killed aged 26 in a pit accident. I couldn't find any reference to his sister,Mary E Wynne after 1891 but it looks as if you've found her in Abenbury Fawr in 1901. Must find out where this is.

    Many thanks,

    Keith
