Thread: John Allt

Looking for the death of John Allt. c1814 Boden Hill Leicestershire

1881 Living in Rawmarsh Yorkshire. He was an invalid in the 1881 Census.



I did find one John Allt who died in 1895 age 77 but that was in Shardlow, meaning that John was born in 1818, not 100% sure that this John Allt is the same one.

I'm not sure that is the right death either Pauline. There is another John Allt around in the right registration death born c 1818 & I think it is more likely to be him. Your John was living in Yorkshire 1871 & 1881 so I think he is more likely to have died there. Incidentally I think he was born Breedon on the Hill (see 1871 census) not Boden Hill which as far as I know doesn't exist.

Thanks Gillian. I guess he'll turn up somewhere, if not in Yorkshire, he may be in Oldham Lancs where some of the Allt family moved to in the late 1880's. Couldn't see John with no family around him if he was an invalid in 1881.
