Hi toeboe.....yes if you quote the index numbers you will be able to buy these certs. Although I have to say as they are siblings all 3 certs would contain the same info so maybe only one would be needed. Certs in Scotland are £13.50 each......rather expensive but the expense is justified by the amount of info they do contain. Hope this is of help to you![]()
hi
yeah i belive so 13.50 !! i have been in touch with ayreshire council
i was only planning on getting james as he is my great great great grandad
do they contain more info than the english certificates ??
thanks
toeboe
p.s do you think theres much chance of getting a marriage cert for james & elizabeth
Hi toeboe. Yes the Scots certs contain quite a bit more info than the english.......in fact you may not need a cert for James and Elizabeth marriage because on childrens birth certs it generally gives Date and Place of marriage. If its James and Elizabeths parents you want then it may be worth buying one but don't be hasty.......I will look for the marriage and see if I can get their names. No sense in spending money if it can be avoided. Give me a few minutes to have a search![]()
Hi again toeboe.......wasn't thinking......as the marriage was before 1855 when statutory records began in Scotland......there are no parents listed.......I checked anyway on OPR and just the couple being married..........so very sorry to have got your hopes up.![]()
hi mollie, thats fine, like you say the birth certificate for james boyd
may have where his parents were married and that could lead me to parish registers
toeboe
