Looking for the McCurdy Family. I couldn't find James McCurdy's date of Marriage, but I did find this on LancashireBMD Bernard J McCurdy married a Jane E Lloyd 1880 in Liverpool.

James McCurdy c 1893 Possible Marriage for him was in 1914 in Wales

Florence McCurdy c 1896

all children born in Everton Lancashire.



I can't seem to find the Head or his spouse on the 1881 Census.



Any help or advice as to their place of birth or relevant info much appreciated. thanks

Think I've found them in 1881-written as Mc Cardy!

They are boarders with Joseph Darbyshire and family

there are several boarders -3 of them are

Bernard J McCardy mar 22 Tram car Driver (or cleaner?) b. Liverpool

Jane E Mc Cardy 19 b. Liverpool

Rebecca Mc Cardy 7wks b. Pemberton



There is a birth FreeBMD

Rebecca Mc Curdy Mar qtr 1881 Wigan 8c 131

and death

Rebecca Mc Curdy age 2 Mar qtr 1884 Liverpool 8b 9



1901 Bernard is going by the name James (his middle name) and is an Electric Tramcar Cleaner

Hi Harryman, It is quite possible that they are who I'm looking for. It's so confusing when their surnames are mistranscribed.



I could be wrong On McCurdy's marriage then. This is the details I have.



James McCurdy born 1893 (son of Bernard) Married Margaret Davies in Dec 1914 Conway-Caernarvonshire Wales.

James was the son of Bernard James McCulley

Bernard married Jane E in 1880 which would fit in with first child (Rebecca being born 1881)-Bernard was using his middle name (James) on 1901 -quite often happens

Thanks Harryman, I guess I'll get there one day some days I can go on a roll and somedays I'm kinda lost.

We're all the same -I call it having a CRAFT day - "Can't remember a flipping thing"!!!!



By the way -I'm located in Nottingham too!!!

Well I managed to find Bernard in the 1881 Census, so that's now attached to him in my tree. I couldn't see any James McCurdy who married in Liverpool, so I was probably right on his marriage in 1914, he was abt 21 then. Any way thankyou for your help.

Hi Harryman, I did find another Bernard McCurdy....But he was born in Scotland in 1808.....a bit too early for him to be James's father.

Hi PAuline - I am very interested in all McCurdys and seeing your postings about BERNARD JAMES MCCURDY I presume that you are a descendant of his. There is a family from the Glens area of Northern Ireland amongst whom the Bernard first name is used, and I suspect strongly that you are a connection of this family, and indeed of the Bernard form Dundee in Scotland - who is another branch of this same family. Another brother Denis was quite prominent in the Wigan area from the 1850s through to 1901 when he died.
I would be delighted to hear from you and to share some information that I would hope would be to our mutual benefit.
