Hi I am in need of some help. I have this family of 20 children and there is one daughter I am not sure if i have the right one.this is the family.



WILLIAM DARBY b 25 dec, 1815 barrow upon soar married ANN RICHARDS the 12 march 1840(got marriage certificate) ANN was c 14 nov, 1820 bobbersmill nottingham.

5.EDWARD DARBY b abt 1845 thrussington leics,married MARTHA LOCKWOOD the 19 april, 1870.MARTHA b abt 1851, died 18 jan, 1936 barrow upon soar.EDWARD died 26 april, 1928 barrow upon soar.

14. FANNY DARBY b 31 march 1854 thrussington,leics, married GEORGE LEWIN abt 1872 (GEORGE LEWIN was the husband of MARIA DARBY oldest sister to FANNY)

15. SAMUEL DARBY b abt 1856 thrussington, married ??

16.PRISCILLA DARBY b abt 1858 thrussington, married HENRY THOMAS BRADSHAW in 1875 barrow upon soar, PRISCILLA died sept qtr 1891 in northamptonshire.

17.GRACE DARBY b abt 1860 thrussington, married JAMES JOHNSON june qtr 1878,JAMES b abt 1856 derbyshire,(apparently GRACE was living with her sister PRISCILLA in northamptonshire)

18.JOHN THOMAS DARBY b march qtr 1862 sixhills leics, married ELIZA STARK sept qtr 1885 barrow upon soar. JOHN died 1943 barrow upon soar leics, ELIZA died 19 april, 1941.

19.GEORGE HENRY DARBY b sept qtr 1864 barrow upon soar, married EMMA BOTWOOD march qtr 1892 northamptonshire.GEORGE died in 1952

20.JOSEPH RICHARDS DARBY b june qtr 1867 barrow upon soar, married EMMA CUNNINGTON sept qtr 1893 barrow upon soar.



So with this family done, there seems to be a ANNIE DARBY b abt 1844 barrow upon soar, daughter to WILLIAM DARBY and ANN DARBY (NEE RICHARDS) who married WILLIAM KELLAM.

So there is only one Ann/Annie

What evidence have you of Annie b Barrow's parents?

There is an Ann Darby christening 13 Mar 1845 parents William & Rose - could this be your Annie?

ANN DARBY head, widow, 78 born bobbersmill notts

GEORGE E SWAIN grandson, single 30 bricklayers labourer, born barrow upon soar.



WILLIAM DARBY husband died march qtr 1892 age 76.



I am wondering if they had a daughter named ANNIE DARBY but no where to be found in that family, just ANN DARBY who married RICHARD SUTTON. ???

Yes - I have just found Ann Darby b 1845 in Barrow 1851 Census with parents William & Rose & the rest of the family

Hi Gillian, well I think we may have something here, I hope. I do have this same family WILLIAM DARBY and ROSE DARBY (nee HAINSWORTH) and they do have a daughter named ANN DARBY c 13 march 1845, maybe she could be the one?

Now how do I find this out.OH! and to answer your question about if I have proof of ANNIE/ANN'S parents the answer is no. I saw somewhere that someone had that info so I have been trying to see if its correct info.

More or less right name, dob, father's name, place of birth - no other possibilities that I can see. Probably as much 'proof' as you get in family history!
