Default not sure where to go next or how to prove the link.. can anyone advise please?

I have managed to trace my family back with certificates and census to

Robert Wacey born c1811 & Mary ann clayden Lister c1811.

they married 1835 tottenham (i have the marriage cert - it doesnt have witness or father names)

they had 3 children. robert was a carpenter.

in 1841 they lived in shoreditch, married with 3 kids. they are both listed as born out of county.

i am trying to find out who robert or marys family are. i have some suspicions but dont know how to check or prove it either way. does anyone know.

i think roberts father was Edward wacey born and married east dereham (m 1807) his wife was Ann ditchman. edward and ann was in london in 1841 and he too was a carpenter.... is this enough to link them?

edward and ann definately had a daughter susannah ditchman wacey born c1813, m 1833 to richard LISTER. richard lister too was a carpenter. i think brother and sister married brother and sister..... but i cant find any trace of richard or marys parentage and i cant find out if edward was his father..

    please can anyone help?

You seem to have established the link fairly well but to be absolutely certain you need a look up in the East Dereham parish registers - I don't think there is anything online

I have discovered that FREEREG have transcribed some of the parish registers and included there is east dereham..

its caused more of a connunderum. I still cant find my robert wacey c1811's birth.

    i found 5 baptisms:

george wacey 1779 - son of George Wacey & Amy.

ann dutchman wacey 1807 - daughter of george wacey & susan Dutchman

elizabeth wacey 1809 - daughter of george wacey & susan Dutchman

william wacey 1811 - son of george wacey & susan ducthman

amy wacey 1811 - daughter of robert wacey & Mary Wright

    i found 2 marriages:

Robert Wacey & Mary Wright married 1811

edward wacey & Ann Dutchman married 1807

    ********************************************

my robert could have been son of robert & Mary, or son of Edward & ann.... or george & susan

there are no entries for children of robert wacey & mary wright at IGI, their marriage is listed as MACEY at IGI. I have looked for this robert in census and he shows no connection with london. In 1841 i think it says his occupation is carpenter (so he could be edwards brother..) in 1841 he has living with him - wife mary. son george 25 & daughter mary ann age 15.

By 1851 mary still in east dereham is a widow. george and mary still at home george is an agr lab, age 37. there are 2 grandchildren living with them too: James F Kemp 2 and Maria Wacey 1.

by 1861 mary is with grandson frederick wacey, age 12.

i think she is still in 1871 with Mrs Dunn.

cant see any connection to my roberts family or london..

    *****************

there is also another family now in the equasion... George Wacey & Susan Dutchman. i cant find anything on these too at igi. i cant find them in census either.

i have found a George Wacey and ANN in 1841 from east dereham.

george was born c1780 east dereham - occ carpenter in 1841. children george, mary ann, sarah & maria. again a carpenter but no other links.

!!!! Sorry - forgot about FreeReg (thanks for the reminder - I have found some of mine which are similarly confusing).

I don't think all the East Dereham baptisms can have been transcribed - there aren't enough of them. So I still think you need to have a look at the parish registers to be certain.
