Hello list,
This is a bit of a dogs' dinner of an enquiry.
My g.Aunt Elizabeth Wynne appears on the 1871 census (name mis-spelt as Wynn) aged 2 years, daughter of John and Hannah Wynne (Wynn) living in Chirk, Wrexham. I cannot find any subsequent mention of her on any census or marriage/death record.
However in 1906, I have on record that the funeral of John Wynne was attended by his three sons and four daughters. From the various records of 1906 I can account for all of the sons and three of the daughters. I guess Elizabeth was at the funeral since four daughters are mentioned but why can't I find her?
I think I recall my mother introducing me to "Aunty Lizzie from Liverpool" in either the late 40's or early 50's so she must have existed.
Since Elizabeth had a brother Thomas and sister Jane both living in the Everton/West Derby area of Liverpool, and a sister Edith who sailed from Liverpool to America in 1912, I feel there ought to be a Liverpool connection to Elizabeth.
The other daughter Mary Eileen Wynne is just as much an enigma, she married a Mr Brennan, and ended up in Avoca Co, Wicklow (Ballykissangel). Did she meet him in Liverpool when working or visiting her siblings? I have found her grave in Avoca in the Protestant Church Yard but her's is the single name on the stone. I have since found that if her husband was a Catholic he would have been buried in the Catholic Cemetary.
Can anyone make any suggestions of how I may find some information about Elizabeth Wynne or possibly about her sister Mary Eileen who is just as elusive?
Thankyou
Keith Wynne Jones
