Thread: Can somebody please help....???

This is confusing.....I'm trying to help a friend......anything on this bloke would be appreciated!!



This is my friends g grandad.....& is listed on birth indexes as both James Rosin & James Elton.



Details are....

James

b 7 May 1853 in Long Acre, Walsall, Staffs

Father's name: James Rosin

Mother's name: Sophia Elton

Father's Occ: Engineer

Birth reg: 16 May 1853



Parents were presumably unmarried with having different surnames.



This James b1853 was abit of a Casanova....he legged it with someone else's wife & fathered about 17 children in all to several different women!!! He was listed as James Palmer in 1861 & James Thompson in 1871.....



Can anybody find him, any info about him, anymore children, anything really....this search has been going on nearly 3 yrs......

Hiya Gillian, thanks for replying! The problem with James is that he seems to have dissappeared, there doesn't seem to be any James Rosin's listed anywhere?? We don't know what happened to him after 1871, he certainly lived alot longer than the 1870's.....he seems to have vanished! We thought fresh eyes might see something we're missing....

Hi Waks, Looked on freebmd but nothing there exept date of birth, Just a thought but do you think he could have changed his name due to his casanova days. Yes it's certainly a complete mystery.

Hi Wak's, How do you know James Palmer (61) and Thompson (71) also Rosen are the one and same person?



What was this man's occupation? and do you have any other information which may help people to hunt him down? ie partners names, children, where he lived, any info you may have will help.
