Thread: dates of birth

help please i am pulling my hair out dont know what to do.

i have just got my great-grandmothers birth certificate, i got it hoping it would give me her mothers name and date of birth but when i opened it all it gave was her name so how do i find out her date of birth.

my great grandmother was edith marsh born 21/12/1887 and her mother was annie marsh date of birth unknown.

any help or idea's would be greatly appreciated.

I think you're on the wrong board - never mind I expect someone will move it!

Birth certificates usually give name of both parents and maiden name of mother - but not their dates of birth.

Is Annie unmarried? If you post all the details you have especially the area & address it should be possible to find them on a census & the maybe track down the relevant birth.
